In Essentials – Unity In Nonessentials
– Freedom
We consider the following to be Essentials:
We believe …
A.
in one God eternally existing in three
persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; John 10:30; John 4:24)
B.
concerning Jesus Christ: His virgin birth
and deity. His blood was shed as the only atonement for the sins of man,
His bodily resurrection and Lordship. (Luke 1:35; Romans 3:25; Acts
2:32-36; 1 Timothy 2:5)
C.
concerning man: all men by nature are
eternally separated from God. All men who place their sincere faith in the
shed blood of Jesus Christ are justified in God's sight. (Isaiah 53:6;
Ezekiel 18:20; Acts 13:38,39; Ephesians 2:8,9)
D.
that the Holy Spirit is a divine Personality
convicting the world of sin and that He regenerates, indwells, enlightens,
empowers, and guides the believer. (John 16:8; I Corinthians 3:16; Acts
1:8)
E.
concerning the Church: all believers are
members of the body of Christ, the universal Church. The Church is called
to a life of separation from worldly and sinful practices, and to a life of
ministry. (I Corinthians 12:12,13; James 4:4; Romans 12:1,2; I John 2:15,16
II Corinthians 6:14; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8)
F.
in the verbal inspiration and full authority
of both the Old and New Testaments. (II Timothy 3:16,17)
G.
in the personality of Satan, and the reality
of Hell. (Job 1:6,7; Matthew 25:46)
H.
that there will be a bodily resurrection of
all: First, the just at His coming and finally, the unjust after the reign
of Christ on earth. The saints are raised to be forever with the Lord and
the unsaved will be confined for eternity in the lake of fire. (John
5:28,29; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11-15)
